About the course or a rough outline of what to expect.
We run regular courses during the year both indoor and outdoor each of the courses follow very much the same direction either run over 2 weekends with 6 hours split or 3 weekends of 2 hours, we don't believe in the more people
on the course the better, but are very much believers in that smaller groups allow
us to give a better foundation for you to build on.
What should you bring and wear?
Well we can't forecast what the weather will be like, at this moment in time neither can many
weather app, but we would recommend be prepared for anything along with the following.
Where there's a demonstration its normal to have a "dry run" we don't shoot until we are confident that we have the stage flowing and familiar with the safety concerns and the consequences' if we don't.
The course format covers the follow.
Introduction to the people that are running the course and supporting it.
Brief history of Shooting Stars and were we hope to be in 2 years.
Introduction to the equipment.
Assembly of the bow and safety check.
Arrow basic points key points and safety check.
Warm up stretches that it recommended before shooting.
On the range:
Safety and possible dangers on the range.
Demonstration of posture on the firing line.
The stages to draw, aim and release. (Demonstration & Practice).
Arrow recovery.
Shoot 4 ends supervised on all stages.
Recap on all you have done with questions and answer.
4 ends with close attention to posture.
4 ends with close attention to safety.
The remaining time is were we combine everything you will be watched all the time for errors.
This is just the start of what's covered in the first 2 - 3 hours how quick we progress depends on the individual.
During the other sessions we cover and use the following shooting with a sight, scoring and spend as much time
as possible refining the areas that need improving and as general rule we try to finish the course with a bit of fun.
But we like you to be confident that you can check the safety of the equipment, know the safety relating to
the equipment, range and shooting as well as scoring and what you to be confidently and enter club or
regional competitions with a good knowledge what to do and what to expect.
